Re: Blackwing Descent - Nefarian
A little tip for the tank handling adds in phase 3
The suggestion for your adds challenge at the start of p3 is that as your adds tank grabs the initial adds, do NOT kite them (far) away from the fire. Keep the first add to pop close to the fire. The fire will then "chase" adds tank, and you can actually kite the fire through the other adds on the ground nearby until they are all up. Once you have most/all of them up, deliberately let them get hit by the next Shadowflame spark from Nefarian (which comes about 30 seconds later).
At that point, you should have all of the adds up, and they should all be on a matching energy timer (at full energy from the latest spark). Then, do the rest of the p3 adds tanking "as normal" from that point forward. You should be able to reset them all together through the end of the fight. Although the adds may be getting a little big when you reset them all in the second Shadowflame spark to come (the first was the one that woke up a couple of them), only the first 1-2 adds that popped up should be getting really big. You can manage this with some early tank cooldowns. If you can survive from the second shadowflame spark resetting all the adds until the first time they go to sleep 50 seconds later, you should be in sync for the rest of the fight.
It's worth noting that we also liked this Nef-in-the-middle strat because it leaves our Nef-tank and raid healers in range of the adds tank to help do some spot healing in a pinch. We found this dramatically reduced the number of times our adds tank got gibbed by the adds plus an Electrocute as the fight wore on. (I didn't have room to cover that part of the discussion in the video commentary, but we had tried several different p3 positioning strats and found this one to be the most effective for us by far).

Re: Blackwing Descent - Nefarian
I've seen one tactic used here where in phase 1, Nefarion does not get touched. Onyxia tank holds her and the adds and Ony gets nuked down asap. Then phase two some damage is done to Nef by the ranged while everyone else takes care of the adds and in phase 3 it's a full nuke down of Nef.

"Amount of Electrocutes in phase 2 - None. (One if your healers think they can handle it, otherwise make sure dpsers don't dps Nefarian at all)."

Re: Blackwing Descent - Nefarian
very good guide
Gona post some of the pointers i think we will wipe on
Phase 1
under controll (or atleast i think so, something about the adds should die close to each onther so it`s easier for the add tank in phase 3, didn`t see where they died as I was faceing dark last night) Read about the trutle pet tank, seam like a nice tip).
Amount of Electrocutes in phase 1 - Two.
Phase 2
- Getting up on the pillars is no easy thing the first couple of times. Be prepared on alot of wiping due to people failing on this. The easiest way to get up on the pillar is to stand some yard away from it (do not run towards it), wait for the lava to fill up, and pressing forward as soon as it has. It works pretty much as when you would jump up on an ice sheet in the game.
(So you dont need to jump on , just swim towards it? can anyone confirm)
Amount of Electrocutes in phase 2 - None. (One if your healers think they can handle it, otherwise make sure dpsers don't dps Nefarian at all).
Atm we can not afford any and i`d say it`s very risky to do 1 in phase to.
Phase 3
Positioning
Nefariantank will be standing in the middle with Nefarian, making sure that Nefarian is never facing the Skeletonadds, for the same reasons as in phase 1.
Skeletonadd tank will be kiting the skeletonadds around the room in a circular motion.
Nefariantank/raidhealers will be standing in the middle, at the side of Nefarian and with melee.
Skeletonadd tankhealer will be running around the room with that tank.
All dps will be standing in the middle, at the side of Nefarian.
- The trickiest part in this phase without a doubt is the kiting of the adds. Until the addtank as got the hang of this you will probably wipe a whole lot of times. Remember that you don't actually kite the adds to avoid their damage, that is impossible since they have 300% runspeed. You kite them to make sure they don't get into Nefarians Shadowblaze which he aims at the Skeletons. The way our addtank did it was that he stood still with the adds until he saw that Nefarian was casting Shadowblaze, at which point he moved them, in a circular path around the edges of the room.
- The Shadowblaze will cover a fair amount of the room towards the last percent. It deals alot of damage so make sure not to stand in it!
Amount of Electrocutes in phase 3 -Six

Re: Blackwing Descent - Nefarian
I don't get it. He casts electrocute at 90, 80, 70, 60, 50, 40, 30, 20 and 10% (9 times) but the strategy says 2 electrocutes in phase 1 and 6 in phase 3, that's 1 too few isn't it? Or does he not use electrocute at 10% or something?
Phase 2 - lava acts really weird, I guess swimming upwards and only jumping when at the surface is what is meant as the best way of handling it? Think Dreb said jumping up and down added stacks of magma damage each time you hit the surface. Problem is you need to be superfuckingfast to reach the platform for the first interrupt AND to take as little damage from the magma as possible. Guess this problem will be less and less important though as people get used to it.
With 2 dps on each add we should cut them down in little over a minute tops, can hunters hit the ones on the other platforms (since they are too close to the one on theirs) or do we use any hunter to get Nef down to just above 70% ?
